Brazil - 1967
Nazareno Rodrigues Alves is a Brazilian illustrator, sculptor and multimedia artist. He was born in São Paulo, Brazil in 1967 but spent his childhood in the city of Fortaleza, in the Northeast. In 1987, the artist moved to Brasília where he received a bachelor's degree in Visual Arts from the Universidade de Brasília (UnB) in 1998. In 1999, he participates in the moving art show Vertentes Contemporâneas – Rumos Visuais Itaú, in the cities of Fortaleza and Recife.
In the 2 following years, he shows his work at Instituto Itaú Cultural in São Paulo and in the Museu de Arte Moderna do Rio de Janeiro.
The artist completed a residency at the Faxinal das Artes in Faxinal do Céu, Paraná, Brazil. In the same year he wins an award for his Para Mim Só Sobrou o Berço de Prata work in the Salão de Artes Visuais de Brasília. In the year 2004 the artist publishes the São as Coisas que Você Não Vê que nos Separam book independently.
