ArtEEdições Galeria seeks to make contemporary art a more democratic experience, through the selling of prints, photographies and objects in limited editions. It exclusively represents here in Brazil some of the biggest UK-based names in contemporary art print - such as Paragon Press and Alan Cristea Gallery. Besides, it also represents Brazilian artists who use photography as their artistic medium.
The concept of democratic art was brought up with the exhibition “Paper Democracy” (2004), co-produced by Claudia Marchetti, with curatorship by Gerard Hemsworth. Then in 2010, they did it again with “Fast Forward” - both shows were held at the Brazilian British Center in São Paulo.
Following that, Marchetti opened the ArtEEdições office, specializing in contemporary international prints.
In 2014, the Gallery was opened in Jardins with the show “Tiragem Limitada” (Limited Edition), showcasing the ways in which the print can transpose it’s democratic quality into other mediums - such as silicone, stainless steel, and bronze.
Claudia Marchetti; graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design at FAAP - Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado - in São Paulo, and a Master’s Degree in Visual Arts at Goldsmith’s College in London. She participated in many exhibitions, and brought to Brazil - in collaboration with Cultura Inglesa - the work of some of the biggest icons in contemporary British art. She’s dedicated to expand and democratize the contemporary art market.
